Reflections on teams work

We know to make all our factors and levels connect and to make them self- sustaining. Plants must be put in the right environment and the animals should be able to move around

We didn’t work well together at the beginning but then we all pulled our weight as a group and worked very well as a group.

In some cases it was a very good reflection but in other cases it was not good at all.

Eco-column as an ecosystem

An ecosystem is a defined area that is self-maintaining, which includes all the different living organisms within that area. These organisms interact with each other and with their non-living physical environment. The 2 main components that include an organism its natural habitat are the abiotic resources, which function together. An ecosystem cannot exist without these components are you

No, it was not self-maintaining; the organisms did react with each other though, but were not able to function with each other

We know know to make all our factors and levels connect and to make them self- sustaining. Plants must be put in the right environment and the animals should be able to move around.

Changes in our eco-column over 3 weeks

I predict that our eco-column will not stay alive over the holidays as in our Tera layer we have planted some seeds which wont get the help they need to grow. Our Decomposition zone is filled with lots of worms snails and ants but I feel that they will not survive because they will have nothing to eat due to the plants not being able to grow.

I think that this is a very  good prediction as I have used my term 1 notes and the internet to make this prediction.

This prediction this very accurate as our eco-column did not survive over the holidays. This is because our seeds in our Tera did not germinate. The Decomposition did not have sufficient food therefore leading to the death of our animals and plants. We looked in our aqua zone under a microscope and we only plant materials, due to that the water went straight though the Tera and decomposition and since there was no animals, we couldn’t find any animal material. We could also see nothing eating the plant material.

Our Litmus paper
Proving that our water is acidic

OUR WATER

OUR SOIL
We found some very tiny organisms under the  dissecting  microscope.
The organisms looked like tiny ants running around and we couldn't identify them.
We also looked at our soil under the microscopes and found some seeds, roots and some weeds growing.

Edited of Abiotic Components

This is the pH of water
We tested it by using litmus paper.
